Wow, never thought the TV was so bad in Florida.  Never thought of it.

We got out of cable because it was real bad. And yes fees keep going up.  It is a monopoly.

Got Directv and am pleased.  We rarely have it go out.  Only when there is a very bad, bad storm.  But that is rare here.

Hope you have luck.  Or you will just have to put up an antena for local. And rent movies or go to the library they are free there.
