Make This a Part of Your Day
DATE: 07/03/2007 / MOOD: in love
With so many of us spending time at our desk these days, it is really important to get up and stretch. What is even better is to work a fifteen minute walk into your morning. If you are at home, this isn't a problem, if you are at the office, use your break time. You will arrive back at your desk feeling so much better. All the kinks will be gone and you will find that these fifteen minute walks will become an important part of your day.

Developing Dream Recall
DATE: 07/03/2007 / MOOD: in love
Wouldn't it be amazing to be able to remember ALL of the dreams you have had over the past year. Some can be pretty bizarre and I'm not just talking about symbolism. I still remember one dream where there was a person who said sadly, that when I returned to my normal non-dream state, I would forget all about him. It gave me the creepiest feeling, and while I don't recall very many details, I do remember that person who is waiting for me on the other side!

Consuming Happiness
DATE: 07/03/2007 / MOOD: in love
No one has a right to consume happiness without producing it.
Helen Keller
Love that and I just might go and bake a bunch of cookies for my dd. She's not enjoying work all that much these days. Why do bosses have to be such jerks?? Does it come with the territory??

Now Something for the Guys!
DATE: 07/03/2007 / MOOD: happy
I promised and now, I'm delivering. There are a lot of sandals for men... some nice, some really quite horrid. These I like. They are simple and don't have a lot of straps. (Hate those) My husband couldn't imagine wearing flip flops but my 20 something son wears them all summer. Must be an age thing. But here's hoping that I will be able to talk by husband into a pair before too much longer. That is if it ever warms up again!!

Hair Bands to Perk Up That Do...
DATE: 07/03/2007 / MOOD: in love
Was looking through the latest issue of Lou Lou and noticed that head bands are still huge for the summer. And there is nothing that will perk up a hairstyle quicker than a bit of color... and I'm loving the polka dots. And you will get a lot of mileage out of those colors. Yes, I'm in the shopping mood this morning. I'm kind of bored with my hair accessories at the moment! I have a new color so now I need some new accessories. ;)
*Okay, this won't do for the guys... I will look for something cool for you too! ;)

Clinique Facial Soap Review
DATE: 07/02/2007 / MOOD: none
Clinique Cleanser - 3.5 oz Facial Soap - Oily Skin Formula ( With Dish ) for Women Price: $17.31 USD
* I was wandering through the cosmetic department of some department store... can't remember which one and a salesperson tried to interest me in this bar of soap. No, at that time I wasn't a big user of Clinique soap, and although I was more than happy to receive a free week's supply of the soap, toner and moisturizer, I wasn't about to fall for the line that it would last more than a year. Lets face it, a bar of soap that sets you back the best part of $20.00 is a bit on the high side. But I was curious. I tried the sample sizes of the Clinique products and found that I liked what they did for my skin. But I still didn't believe the part about it lasting longer than a year. I did however, go back to ask more questions. And once again, the salesperson assured me that this soap will last at least a year. I decided that I would buy it, but I wanted the salesperson's name just in case the soap melted away in a couple of months. She just laughed and said that she would be happy to give it to me. Hmmm... that made me wonder.
So, long story short... the soap did last longer than a year and I have bought more of the Clinique line of products over the years. But, one thing. The soap is not formulated to remove makeup. Normal dust and gunk yes, but it won't dissolve makeup... so now you know. You are going to need something else for that. But as I don't wear makeup every day so, it works quite nicely on those particular days!!
In a nutshell... really good value for your dollar.

My Seven Day Rule
DATE: 07/02/2007 / MOOD: none
I have tried this and for me... it's incredibly difficult, but it's a good rule anyway. When you spot something you just can't live with out... put it back and don't buy it for seven days. If you still want it after the seven days has passed... go back and buy it. If you have changed your mind within that time, you saved yourself a few or a lot of bucks!
Me, I use this idea for a day at the mall. I will wander around looking, but I won't buy anything until it's almost time to leave the mall. If I still want it then, I go and buy it. Hey, I'm not called a Shopping Diva for nothing. And this proves it. lol... I'm paid to shop.

*The Scent Can Change
DATE: 07/02/2007 / MOOD: none
Fragrance will change the way it smells on you for a variety of reasons. If you go on a diet, smoke, and begin taking certain medications, the scent can change.
And here is an interesting one... as you grow older, the scent that you love, will most likely change. So what is the big deal... you go shopping for a new one! ;)
I had a favorite in my twenties, a different one in my thirties and even different ones when I hit my forties... I got sophisticated lol...
